The All Progressive Congress, APC Owerri Federal Constituency candidate, Hon Obinna Mbata has opened up on his ambition.
Aside giving the constituency effective representation, Mbata who has embarked on an aggressive campaign across the constituency said he was motivated to join the race to give quality representation to his people.
Speaking to elders, Owerri indigenes and non indigenes, traders, market women, traditional rulers and their wives at a rally in Owerri municipal, Mbata promised to restore the glory of his people.
“ With my vast knowledge as a lawyer, former banker, former commissioner of Internal Generated Revenue and Finance, experience and contacts, I will be able to restore the dignity and glory of Owerri people through proper legislation geared towards improving the lives of our people. I m not going there to enrich myself
“ With me as your representative in the House of Representatives for Owerri Federal constituency, all benefits and dividends of democracy shall get to the people.
Representatives of various groups who attended the rally vowed to support Hon Mbata as the February 16 Presidential and National Assembly elections comes close.
Speaker after Speaker at the event lamented how Owerri municipal has been shortchanged among the three local governments representing the constituency. They recalled that Owerri North and Owerri West Local Governments had produced a representative twice while Municipal had only produced a representative once.
