*Aggrieved Guber Aspirant, Senator Anyanwu Absent*
*Ihedioha Fingers Indiscipline,Lack Of Due Process, Lack of Rule of Law As Imo’s Headache*

Unfazed by little or no skirmishes rocking its fold, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Imo State on Monday kick started its campaign ahead of the titanic governorship election in the State on March 2nd, 2019.

Top party leaders were present at the kick off the event including the party’s governorship candidate, Hon Emeka Ihedioha.

Others present at the campaign take off include former Governor of Imo Sate, Chief Dr Achike Udenwa, Chief Dr Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the Deputy Governorship Candidate, Rt. Hon. Gerald Irona, Hon. Jones Onyerieri, Owerri Federal House of Reps member, Hon. Ezenwa Onyewuchi, Hon. Obinna Onwubuariri, Hon. Jerry Alagboso, Hon. Henry Nwawuba, Sir Martins Ejiogu, Nze Raymond Emeana, Lady Maria Mbakwe, among others.

Absent was aggrieved governorship aspirant and Senator representing Owerri zone, Senator Samuel Anyanwu. The Senator is in court challenging the conduct of the party’s governorship primary which produced Ihedioha as its governorship candidate.

Hope had come the way of party chieftains last week when foremost leader of the party, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu said he has directed Senator Anyanwu to withdraw the matter in court.

The Senator is yet to comply with the directive but party leaders remain hopeful that the Chairman Senate Committee on Ethics, public petitions and privileges will tow the path of peace.

In his remarks at the rally, Ihedioha assured that a PDP led administration will focus on core areas in the State such as Power, education, infrastructure, sustainable youth and women empowerment, payment of wages and pension, training of teachers, employment, industrialization, Healthcare, rural development, economic growth and general development.

He noted that the major challenges facing the State today are orchestrated by indiscipline, lack of due process and lack of rule of law

He also drummed support for the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar which he said will get Nigeria work again.

The event took place at Mbaitoli Local Government, one of the LGAs in Imo State with large voting population.

A Town Hall meeting had preceded the rally.

The Party’s State Chairman, Charles Ezekwem said the PDP has the best governorship candidate in the guber contest assuring of better days for the people when the party is elected into power.
