Imo APC Reacts To Postponement of Elections

The Imo State chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC has reacted to the postponement of the Presidential and National Assembly elections by INEC.

In  a statement signed by Enyinnaya Onuegbu, Publicity Secretary of the party, the APC in Imo urged voters in the State to be patient with INEC as they perfect their programmes towards achieving free, fair and credible 2019 round of elections in Nigeria.

Part of the Statement reads“ That it is regrettable that the news of the postponement was made rather to close to the commencement of the exercise, we are however persuaded by the somber demeanour and presentation of the Hon Chairman that the decision was a difficult but necessary one to take to ensure the ultimate success of the elections. It is more important t finally “get it right”

The party called on members of the opposition parties, civil society groups and foreign countries to refrain from unguarded commentaries that can precipitate civil crisis in the country so that the elections can be concluded with the peace of Nigeria guaranteed.
