The All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA in Imo State seems to be missing out in the political gymnastics trailing the conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in Imo State.

APGA has been rated as one of the four Major Political Parties likely to spring up surprises during the conduct of the governorship election in Imo State. But worrisome is the inability of the party to win a single federal constituency seat in the State.

It has also failed to win any Senatorial seat leaving the dice for the All Progressive Congress, APC and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Much as the party did not field any presidential candidate, thus a factor which may have limited it’s chances at the National Assembly elections, one would have expected that the party could have garnered one or two House of Reps seat in the State to show its potency and readiness to put up an impressive outing during the forthcoming governorship election scheduled to hold on March 9, 2019.

Though the dynamics and sentiments that influence the presidential and National Assembly elections are not the same with the governorship election, it is still worrisome that the party did not put up a fight at the polls and left the battleground for the PDP, APC and the Action Alliance, AA.

This brings to the fore the rumbles and tumbles that hit the party after its primaries in the State which indeed eroded its massive support base. APGA may have lost its “hurricane” status which it used to sweep victory in elections in the State in the past. The guber elections will reveal if the party is heading to perdition or about to spring a surprise.
