Barely 48 hours to the governorship election in Imo State, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has recorded a major boost with the resolve of Senator Samuel Anyanwu to sheath his sword and work for the success of the party’s governorship candidate, Hon Emeka Ihedioha.
Anyanwu had vied for the party’s governorship ticket but lost to Ihedioha.He faulted the process alleging that the Primary election was not properly conducted, alleging irregularities. He had proceeded to court to challenge the process. The legal fireworks had been on for some months.
But in a major twist on Thursday, Senator Anyanwu directed members of his Divine Mandate Movement to roll in the votes for Ihedioha and all PDP candidates during the governorship election to be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019.
A top official in Senator Anyanwu’s camp confirmed this development to this newspaper.
