The senatorial candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, in Owerri zone in the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections, Chief Mike Nwachukwu has explained what transpired between him and governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Hon Emeka Ihedioha when the latter visited him at his country home.
According to a statement signed by Clinton Offurum, Senior Special Assistant Communications to Chief Nwachukwu, he said at no time did (he) Nwachukwu endorse Ihedioha for Imo Governorship.
The statement reads:
“This serves as a re-joinder to the fake news coming from social media e-rats with the aimed at scoring cheap politicial points.
“To set the records straight Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha – the Governorship Candidate of PDP visited the APGA Senatorial Candidate for Owerri Zone in the February 23, 2019 National Assembly Election – Chief Mike Nwachukwu today – March 3, 2019 at his Obiri Mpi Dike residence, Umuokpaa Egbelu Obube.
“It is only natural that given Chief Nwachukwu’s pedigree and political standing in Owerri Zone, the various gladiators in the Governorship race will expectedly seek him out and solicit his support. Not a few of them in the crowded field has reached out to him, anyway.
“However, Chief Mike Nwachukwu remains a committed member of APGA and is working hard to ensure the Party delivers her Governorship Candidate – Dist. Senator Ifeanyi Araraume
