Those seeking appointments into various positions of the incoming government in Imo State have reportedly besieged the Governor elect of Imo State, Hon Emeka Ihedioha.
Newspaper reports in Owerri said the Civic centre residence of Governor Elect has become a mecca where those who either came to congratulate him or seeking appointments have taken over the Owerri private home of the Former Deputy Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives.
According to the report published by a local tabloid, it said leading politicians, their godfathers and lobbyists are in rat race to secure one appointment or the other thus have constantly visited the home of the newly elected Governor of the State.
Not limited to appointment seekers, there are clear indications that those jostling for leadership position in the next House of Assembly have been also thronging Ihedioha’s home in droves.
This newspaper had reported recently that members elect of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA and the Action Alliance, AA especially those from Okigwe zone may decamp to the PDP in a bid to grab the Speakership position of the House.
The Governor’s elect Peoples Democratic Party, PDP did not produce a House member from Okigwe zone. His Deputy, Gerald Irona is from Orlu zone thus leaving Okigwe zone to produce the Speaker.
