The Chairman of Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party, ANRP, Imo State chapter, Mr. Chibuike Oziri Nwachukwu, has advised the incoming Governor of Imo State, Hon Emeka Ihedioha to constitute a special committee that will place surveillance on financial infow and outflow of the State and also monitor the activities outgoing Governor of the State, Rochas Okorocha.

Oziri who spoke to this newspaper in an interview said such committee has become imperative following allegations of looting of State government funds and properties.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Imo State had last week alleged that the State Governor had allegedly withdrawn N17 billion naria within three days after the governorship election in the State.

It also alleged that some government owned properties were taken to unknown destination.

The State Government however denied the allegations which it described as laughable.

But Oziri maintained that based on these allegations by the PDP, he advised Ihedioha to place surveillance on the activities of the outgoing government till the day of handover which is May 29, 2019.

He added that State funds and properties are not the sole prerogative of an individual but the collective wealth of the people of Imo State and should not be diverted recklessly.

He advised the State Government to be prudent with state resources till it hand over the reins of government to the newly elected Governor of the State, Ihedioha.
