As a means of fast tracking development and guarantee people oriented governance, the traditional rulers in Imo State have given Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, the newly elected Executive Governor of Imo State six points agenda that if religiously implemented will uplift the state before its contemporaries in the country.

HRH Eze Chidume Okoro, the President of Owerri Traditional Rulers Association and the Immediate Past Deputy Chairman, Council of Traditional Rulers, Imo State disclosed this in Owerri on Thursday during an interaction with newsmen on the traditional rulers’ expectations from the incoming government.

Eze Okoro who is the traditional ruler of Amano Autonomous Community in Ahiazu Mbaise Council Area of the State said “Imo Traditional rulers and their subjects will be glad if His Excellency Rt Hon. Emeka Ihedioha will give priority attention to rural infrastructural developments, mechanized agricultural revolution, job creation opportunities, qualitative educational system, functional health sector and sanitization of the traditional institution among others that history and posterity will write his name in gold” he assured.

While congratulating the Governor-Elect, the Royal father recalled that Ihedioha as a member of House of Representatives for Twelve years attracted and executed legacy projects in all the 27 council areas in the state.

He decried the level of infrastructural decay in the state as well as the suffering the citizenries have been subjected into for the past 8 years and assured that the Governor will ameliorate their sufferings through purposeful and visionary governance.

Eze Chidume who is popularly called Ugo Amano was emphatic on the need for the state government to encourage agriculture, informing that Imo State is the largest producer of cassava just as Nigeria is the highest exporter of the agricultural product.

The first class traditional ruler also expressed disappointment on the level of bastardization being experienced by the traditional institution and re-affirms his conviction that the new administration will restore hope and happiness to the good people of the state.

He further enjoined Imo people on the need to be patient and supportive noting Ihedioha as a man that honours agreement and committed to due process.
