Imo State Governor Elect, Hon.Emeka Ihedioha on April 1, 2019 announced Dr.Ernest Ebi as Chairman of his Transition Technical Commitee.
Ebi has the monumental task in salvaging Imo State from further ruination after being plagued by years of poor governance.

Mr. Ebi is Non-Executive Director of Dangote Cement Plc since January 30, 2014. He served as the Deputy Governor, Policy and Corporate Services at the Central Bank of Nigeria from 1999 to 2009.
Mr. Ebi worked in various departments of International Merchant Bank in Lagos from 1981 to 1993. In 1993, he was appointed by the CBN/NDIC as Executive Director, Corporate Banking of African Continental Bank Plc, Lagos until 1995, when he became the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer at New Nigeria Bank Plc. In January, 1998, he was appointed the Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer at Diamond Bank Limited.

He commenced his working career in the United States of America as an Accounts Technician with the National Association of Counties, Washington DC in 1976 and subsequently worked at the Federal Savings & Loans Association Washington DC where he served as the Assistant Vice-President Community Federal Savings & loans Association.
In a very distinguished career within the financial services industry Mr. Ebi went on to serve in leadership in various notable banking sector organizations.

He has been Chairman of Fidelity Bank Plc since December 16, 2016. He served as the Chairman of Unic Insurance PLC. He served as the Chairman of Deputies of the Group of Twenty Four countries (G24 countries).
He served as Director of Afromedia PLC until July 28, 2015. He has served extensively on many corporate for profit as well as not-for profit Organisations. He supports Worldvision. He is also involved in various other humanitarian causes, especially in fundraising to promote its programs across the nation.
He attended Hoy Ghost College Owerri from 1970 to 1972. He has attended management and leadership development programs in IMD Switzerland, Harvard, Oxford-Said Business School, amongst others.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and holds the National Award; MFR.
