*Council Chairmen To Follow Suit Next Week.

The debt profile of Imo State came to the front burner at the Imo State House of Assembly on Tuesday when lawmakers summoned the State Commissioner of Finance, Mrs Ugochi Nnanna Okoro and State Accountant General, Casmir Ozuzu.

A motion moved by Chika Madumere (Nkwerre) during plenary called on the House to cause the Accountant General and Finance Commissioner to appear before it and give the actual debt profile of the State on the grounds that the State Governor had insisted that Imo State is not indebted.

She said the accounts would provide an update on the debt status of the State.

Lawmakers okayed the motion, inviting the Commissioner and AG to appear before it House today (Wednesday)

Another motion for the 27 local Government Chairmen to appear before the House on Wednesday was considered.

Hon. Arthur Egwim (Ideato North) had moved the motion.

Hon Kennedy Ibe supported the motion, recalling that the Chairmen under auspices of ALGON in Imo State had sent two representatives when the House Committee on LGA Matters invited them to give account of the financial status of the Local Governments.
