The Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri has held its 41st Matriculation ceremony

The Matriculation Ceremony was held on Wednesday, 3rd March, 2019 at the Ceremonial Ground of the School with over 2000 students of National Diploma and Higher National Diploma Regular and Part-time Evening and Weekend Programmes.

The students were happy as they celebrated and rejoiced with their loved- ones who came from far and near to celebrate with them. The event was spectacular as the students and the school management were clad colourfully in their matriculation attire to the admiration of visitors.

 

In his welcome speech, Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri, Rev Engr Dr Michael Chidiebere Arimanwa,said that the citadel of learning is associated with academic excellence and morality and as such advised students to study hard to gain knowledge and lessons that will help them project their future positively for their own good and that of the society at large.

The Rector described this year’s matriculation as a landmark and epic making ceremony.

“A matriculation ceremony that usher in new students into a new era, but by the grace of God, new ideas and innovation-driven methods of approach to ensure peace, development and progress in our dear institution “.

Rev Arimanwa revealed that Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri rank as one of the second generation Polytechnics in the country having been created in 1978.

He charged students to shun cultism, indecent dressing, immorality, cohabitation, keeping late night and also make use of the library to merit excellence.

Chairman, Publicity and Programme sub-committee and PRO of the Polytechnic, Mr Ever Bezze Nwosu, recounted that the school rewards discipline and academic excellence as four students got scholarship from the institution.
