Imo Assembly Deputy Speaker Gives Reasons For Resigning


The Deputy Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Hon.Ugonna Ozuruigbo has resigned.

His resignation came a day House members got entangled in fierce altercations that led to the suspension of the Speaker, Acho Ihim and Majority Leader, Lugard Osuji.

Ozuruigbo had vied and won House of Reps seat for Nwangele, Nkwerre, Isu and Njaba Federal Constituency on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC.

In his resignation letter, he said  his election to the House of Reps is one of the reasons why he left as Deputy Speaker.

” As you already knew, I have been sent to another four years by my Federal Constituency at the federal House of Representatives

He said “the new task has come with its own challenges and this need to play key roles in the formation of the National Assembly leadership.

He said he needs time to strategically position, pursue the greater interests of Imo State, South East and Nigeria at the Federal legislature.
