In line with claims by the Inauguration Commitee of Imo State Governor elect, Hon.Emeka Ihedioha, that the State Governor, Rochas Okorocha has not shown any commitment to the process, the commitee has resorted to self help by renovating the venue of the handover ceremonies.

The Commitee had began emergency repairs at the Dan Anyiam and Grasshopper International handball Stadium, Owerri, venues where most of the activities leading to the inuguration will take place and the swearing in ceremony to be held on May 29.

Areas which received attention during the renovation include the handball stadium and the football pitch which had been in dilapidated state in the last eight years of the present administration.

This newspaper gathered that the renovation works is mainly funded by the Governor Elect, Rt Hon.Emeka Ihedioha.

A member of the commitee told this newspaper that the State Government has not made a contribution or input in the rehabilitation process.

” We are focusing rehabilitation at the toilets. There are no functional toilets or bathroom in the entire complex and all the seats, barricades are being fixed. The drainages have been blocked for years and they are being cleaned up”
