Governor Rochas Okorocha has opened up on his frosty relationship with his party, the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.

Okorocha who spoke at the commissioning of Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari, represented by Vice President, Yemi Osibanjo, said despite doing his party proud, what he got in return was seizure of his Certificate of Return by INEC and harassment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

” I have done my party proud what I get at the end of it all is seizure of my Certificate of Return and harassment of EFCC. It does not give me joy. EFCC should come to the State and asses all projects executed by this administration rather than unnecessary haressament.

He said the EFCC has not been fair to his government.

” One of the things EFCC is investigating is the N500million paid to school children across the State as stipends. That made the EFCC to close down the account of Imo State for the past three months. And no activity is going on in the State again. I think it is not fair for a State that has performed very well and has also performed to uplift the name of APC beyond doubt.

Commissioning the Airport, Vice President Yemi Osibanjo said facilities at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport are of world class which the nation ought to be proud of.

It would be recalled that EFCC Acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, had said that Okorocha and others are being investigated by the Commission.
