In what appears re opening a fresh war barely three days to handover to a new administration, Governor Rochas Okorocha has accused the APC Governorship Candidate in the governorship election, Senator Hope Uzodinma of casting aspersions on him.

He accused Senator Uzodinma of failing to deliver the APC in the State and not producing a single member of the State House of Assembly for the party.

Senator Uzodinma had continuously lashed out at Governor Okorocha for the misfortune of the APC in the State and in the South East.

Last week, a chieftain of the party and Director General of Voice of Nigeria (VON), Osita Okechukwu, had also lashed out at Okorocha accusing him of ruining the chances of the party in the South East.

The APC completely lost out in the region. Since after the election, party chieftains in the South East had resorted to blames and counter blames on what led to the dismal performance of the party in the South East.

Prior to the governorship election in Imo State, the crisis in the APC in Imo State reached a head when President Muhammadu Buhari during his campaign visit to Owerri, called on voters in the State to vote any candidate of their choice.

With the elections over, it appears a new chapter in the struggle for the soul of the party in the State has begun.

Senator Uzodinma who is widely tipped to bag a minsiterial position had severally fired salvos at Okorocha for the being responsible for the woes of the party in the State.

Okorocha in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemedo said Senator Uzodinma decided to launch fresh media attacks on him because ” they have promised him ministerial appointment and that is the reason behind his current media campaigns and to be listened to, he has to be insulting Okorocha”

Senator Uzodinma is yet to respond to the latest allegations as a fierce battle for the revival of the party in the State begins even when it slips into opposition in three days time.
