Embattled Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Acho Ihim, Thursday, reacted to his purported suspension by 21 members of the Assembly.

Ihim, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Marcel Ekwezuo said he remains the Speaker of the House, saying what took place outside the Chambers was not  his suspension as announced by 21 lawmakers but ” tingling of love common in a peaceful and a happy united brothers and sisters since the business of the House is strictly conducted in the Chambers”

Ihim came under fire from his colleagues after he was accused by some aggrieved members that he wanted to unilaterally recall the suspended local government Chairmen.

Hon.Chinedu Offor, who assumed the position of new Acting Speaker told Journalists that an impeachment notice has been served on the Speaker after his suspension.

But Ihim denied the allegations saying  he has not been suspended or impeached.

” There was a normal executive session, plenary and adjournment of the House after the 27 LGA Executive Chairman generally agreed by the House were restored” he said.
