Imo Assembly Wants State Electoral Commission Dissolved

The Imo State House of Assembly has directed the State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, to sack the Chairman and members of the Independent National Electoral Commission, ISIEC

The legislators accused the commission’s Chairman and members of being grossly incompetent.

The motion for the sack of the Council Chairmen was moved by the deputy Majority Leader, Hon Kennedy Ibe.

He explained that, “the motion is to ensure that those wishing to contest in future local government elections are those with the genuine interest of the people at heart.”

Against that background, the Imo Assembly called for the overhauling of the commission to make it responsible and responsive.
