Imo APC Chieftains In The Dark Over Buhari’s Choice Of Minister

BY: RALPH EJIMKONYE, ABUJA

Top chieftains of the All Progressive Congress, APC in Imo State are in the dark over whom President Muhammadu Buhari may have chosen as ministerial nominee from the State.

While news have gone round that APC governorship candidate, Senator Hope Uzodinma, may have been selected for Imo, it was gathered that there is no certainty on his possible nomination by the President.

Buhari has kept very close to his chest his list of ministerial nominees, 12 days after he was sworn in for a second term.

Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, had said it is only God and the President that knows the next set of Ministers.

Amaechi’s comment underscores how secret the President has kept his ministerial nominees which he is likely to submit after the inuguration of the ninth National Assembly on June 11.

Party chieftains who were lobbying for the ministerial slot were said to have relied so much on the National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, to push their nomination as Minister

A party source told this newspaper in Abuja that “We are in the dark on those the President had selected to be Ministers. Due to the uncertainty in Imo APC, we are not sure who may have made the list as his nomination

” Nothing is certain until the names are announced. Nobody is sure of anything” he said.
