Another Imo Assembly Member Defects To PDP

The wave of defection among members of the newly inaugurated House of Assembly in Imo State has taken a new dimension with the switch of another lawmaker from the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Hon.Amara Iwuanyanwu who represents Nwangele State Constituency has dumped APGA for the PDP. He was said to have announced his defection at Stakeholders meeting in Nwangele.

Iwuanyanwu, son of late PDP Chieftain, Chyna Iwuanyanwu was said to be in consideration for the Speakership of the 9th Imo Assembly.

Hon.Chiji Collins who was elected to the House on the platform of APGA had joined the PDP .Thereafter he emerged Speaker of the House.

Two members who were elected on the platform of Action Alliance, AA, Hon.Kennedy Ibe and Hon Lawman Duruji, have all joined the PDP.

Political observers are deeply worried on the pace of defections of opposition party members to the ruling party in the State legislature.
