Senator Rochas Okorocha, Senator Representing Imo West in the Senate and Hon.Emeka Nwajiuba, member representing Okigwe South in the House of Representatives, have indulged in exchange of tackles in the media on why and how the South East lost the office of the Speaker of House of Representatives.
Nwajiuba had joined the race for the Speaker of the House of Representatives but was overwhelmed by the pace of Hon.Femi Gbajabiamila who eventually emerged Speaker.
Nwajiuba had on Sunday blamed Okorocha for the loss of the position by the South East citing the manner primaries for candidates were conducted in the APC in Imo State as one of the major reasons.
Okorocha in his response through a statement by his media adviser, Sam Onwuemedo, said Nwajiuba is a man who never believed in Due Process.
” Hon.Nwajiuba has always anchored his politics on name dropping. He has never believed in grassroots politics or team politics. He has no respect for organised process. He firmly believes in taking it or getting it up there.And it has been working for him, even during the time of Late General Sani Abacha.
Okorocha denied that he supervised any APC primary in the State when he was Governor.
“He (Nwajiuba) did not explain how, because it was the National headquarters of the party that handled the primaries of APC in the State both the one Ahmed Gulak truncated and the second exercise.
