Crisis Engulfs Action Alliance Over Nwosu’s Tribunal Matter

BY: IKENNA OKENWA

The Action Alliance, AA has become a theatre of sorts where political drama seems to be endless.

Since last week, there has been political fireworks all tied to the intention of the party’s governorship candidate in Imo State, Uche Nwosu to continue his legal war against Governor Emeka Ihedioha who was declared winner of the governorship election in Imo State on March 9, 2019 by INEC.

Fresh drama started last week when Nwosu’s Deputy (running mate) in the election and immediate past Speaker of the House of Assembly, Acho Ihim dumped the AA and pitched tenth with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Therefater, the National Chairman of the AA, Kenneth Udeze announced that the party is laying to rest it’s legal onslaught against Ihedioha at the Election Petitions Tribunal where Nwosu is challenging Emeka Ihedioha’s declaration by INEC as winner of the guber polls and Governor of Imo State.

But in a swift counter, the Deputy National Chairman of the party , Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar said he and members of the party’s NEC and National Think Tank Commitee, have suspended the National Chairman, Udeze and National Secretary, Dr.James Vernimbe for anti party activities.

At a news conference held in Abuja, Mohammed drew attention of the media to unilateral decisions, press releases and interviews by the national chairman against the party’s governorship candidate, Chief Uche Nwosu.

He accused the National Chairman and Secretary of unilaterally throwing caution to the wind by lying under oath to the election tribunal in Imo State to the fact that the National Think Thank commitee was not aware and not in support of the party’s candidate in his pursuit to reclaim his mandate.

This newspaper observed that there is a grand plot to cause chaos on the party in a bid to weaken Nwosu’s commitment in pursuing his case at the Tribunal which be teh reason for fresh altercations in the party.
