Principal Officers Of Imo Assembly Emerge

Aside electing the Speaker and Deputy Speaker last week, members of the Imo State House of Assembly have concluded fillling up other key and principal positions in the House.

Hon.Reginald Nna member representing Oru West emerged Majority Leader while Hon.Lawman Duruji was elected Deputy Majority leader.

Member representing Ngor State Constituency emerged Chief Whip, with Hon.Paschal Okorie emerging Deputy Chief Whip.

The positions were said to be fallout of harmonization of the House leadership during plenary on Tuesday.

During the plenary, the House adopted the an amended rule which makes it impossible for non ranking members to be elected principal officers.

Speaker of the House, Hon.Chiji Collins, also during plenary adopted a motion urging the Governor to intervene in the erosion menace at Njaba River .
