Imo State Governor,Hon.Emeka Ihedioha has embarked on massive sweep dissolving all statutory commissions in the State.
A statement released Saturday signed by Secretary to State Government, Hon.Uche Onyeagocha reads
DISSOLUTION OF ALL STATUTORY COMMISSIONS
- In accordance with all enabling laws, including the Imo State House of Assembly Resolution 177 paragraph (2) of 3rd June, 2019 on the above subject, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha CON, Governor of Imo State has approved the dissolution of all Statutory Commissions in the State with immediate effect.
- Affected in the dissolution are Civil Service Commission, Local Government Service Commission, Judicial Service Commission, House of Assembly Service Commission, Imo State Independent Electoral Commission and Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission.
- Consequently, Chairmen and Members of these Commissions are directed to vacate their offices and hand over all Government property in their possession to the Permanent Secretary/the most Senior Officer in their respective Commissions.
- All handing over and taking over formalities must be completed on or before close of work Monday 1st July, 2019.
