Baring last minute changes, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the 9th Imo State House of Assembly will emerge from Okigwe and Orlu zones respectively.
Ironically, the two leaders of the House are decampees from the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA.
Hon Chiji Collins member elect representing Isiala Mbano State Constituency had dumped the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
He is in line for the Speaker of the House. He is from Okigwe zone.
Sources said Orlu zone looks good to grab the slot for Deputy Speaker. The zone produced four Members elect for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The choice of Deputy Speaker may not fall in the kitty in any of the four Members select as Hon.Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu (Nwangele, APGA) may go dump APGA for the PDP in a bid to grab the Deputy Speaker position.
Owerri zone looks good for the position of Majority Leaders contary to insinuations that it will take the post of Deputy Speaker.
The 9th Assembly will be inaugurated on Thursday by the State Governor, Hon.Emeka Ihedioha.
