Top chieftains of the All Progressive Congress, APC in Imo State are working round the work to ensure they get the nod to be appointed Ministers in the next level government of President Muhammadu Buhari.
There has been fierce scramble for the sole ministerial slot from Imo State by some top chieftains of the party.
With the delay in the release of the list, those jostling for the posts have intensified their lobby.
President Muhammadu Buhari had asked for more time to announce his cabinet.
A source who have been following the development in the party said no one is sure who will make the list from Imo State.
“The President is keeping everything to himself. Though there may be inputs by the party leadership, there is nothing cast on stone to suggest that someone has been pencilled down as a nominee from Imo State chapter of the APC
” Last week, the media speculated those that may return, that is how the speculation has been ongoing. We keep our fingers crossed. There will be more speculations in the media until the final list is released.
This newspaper was informed that the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Hope Uzodinma and former Deputy Governor, Eze Madumere are in the running for ministerial appointment from the State. It was also gathered that some other party chieftains are also in the running for the post.
The source stated “There is no certainty that the two made the cut as nominations for ministerial positions is the exclusive preserve of the President.
” There is so much speculation on the matter. We better watch and see.
