As speculations continue to thrive on who will be the next ministerial nominee from Imo State, a female nominee may have scaled through the hurdle to emerge a Minister from the State.
This newspaper was informed that the nominee is a top APC member, a major stakeholder at the national level and very close to the corridors of power.
She is said to have the ears of powers that be in the country and heads of one the “high profile Federal Government agencies that has foreign affiliation”.
“ Except there is last minute change of decision, this prominent daughter from Imo State looks good to be among those be appointed a Minister in President Buhari’s Next Level administration
“She is sound and well read, very competent and has earned the confidence of party chieftains at the national level. She is in the heart of this government at the centre” a top level source revealed exclusively to this newspaper in Abuja.
Chieftains of the All Progressive Congress, APC in Imo State, have been embroiled in a cold war over who emerges the ministerial nominee from the party in the State.
The race for ministerial appointment has even pitched erstwhile political allies against each other.
It was reported in the media that the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Hope Uzodinma, is having a running battle with immediate past Deputy Governor of the State, Prince Eze Madumere, on who gets the nod of the Presidecny to be made a Minister.
Former Governor Rochas Okorocha is also said to be pushing a nominee for the position. He had nominated his in law, Anthony Anwuka, in 2015, who was later appointed Minister of State, Education.
