The Imo State Police Command has announced its intention to destroy all IEDs and UXOs in its custody on the 20th July, 2019 at Avu by Port Harcourt road.
The full statement reads:
DEMOLITION OF UNEXPLODED ORDNANCE DEVICES (UXO)
In line with international best practices of not keeping recovered UNEXPLODED ORDNANCE DEVICES/ IMPROVISE EXPLOSIVE DEVISES (UXOs and IEDs)for too long.
The Command therefore wishes to inform the general public of its intention to destroy all IEDs and UXOs in its custody on the 20th July, 2019, at Avu, by Port Harcourt road.
The command hereby notify those living around the said area, to take cognisance of such operation, and not to panic.
All inconvenience that may arise as a result of this operation is highly regretted please.
