Intellectuals, party chieftains and what a source described as round pegs in round holes will be highly considered for Commissioner posts to be appointed soon by Imo State Governor, Hon.Emeka Ihedioha, CON.
A local tabloid had last week speculated those who may make the cut.
This newspaper had conducted further investigations which reveal the shape and colouration of the incoming cabinet.
Governor Ihedioha is said to be exclusively responsible for their appointments and may have shut out godfathers and mothers from making the cut.
Top chieftains of the party had made strong inputs into the appointment of local government Chairmen and members.
A group, Save Imo, had alleged that most of the Chairmen were appointed based on the recommendations of some political investors.
Another report had it also that most of the appointees were Local Government Chairmen of the PDP.
Another source told this newspaper that the Governor has decided to go solo in appointing his Commissioners that will drive his rebuild Imo Agenda.
The source said ” The Commissioners will be soley appointed by the Governor with little input from anyone else. He has settled majority of those who worked for him during the elections.
“That is why he set up so many commitees made up of mostly party members and core loyalists.
” But in the case of commissioners, he has his plans and he is keen to ensure he recruits the best. And the best he will get for the task ahead.
Governor Ihedioha had in his address to Stakeholders last week said he will send a list of his Commissioners nominees to the House of Assembly soon.
