The deep fianacial mess Imo State was plunged into by the past administration were some of the factors which led to the introduction of the Treasury Single Account, TSA.
Imo State Governor, Hon.Emeka Ihedioha,had told visiting leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, at the Sam Mbakwe Exco Chambers, Government House, Owerri, that the past administration operated 250 bank accounts. He said such accounts have been closed leading to the introduction of Treasury Single Account, TSA.
Governor Ihedioha reminded CAN of its responsibility, saying Churches must speak truth to power.
He said Imo State is in coma with deplorable State of roads, pointing out that other sectors such as Agriculture, education, human capital development were all in shambles.
“Imo is in monumental debt. Everything is completely gone” he said.
He commended CAN for the courtesy visit, assuring that their request for the revalidation of pilgrimage to Jerusalem will be revisited.
Earlier, CAN Chairman, Apostle Iheanyichi Godson urged the State to re introduce Moral Studies in schools as a way of promoting morality and discipline among students, Youths for a better society
The Governor also played host to some traditional Rulers in the State.
