Member Representing Okigwe South in the House of Representatives, Hon.Emeka Nwajiuba, was a surprise inclusion in the 42 man ministerial list released by President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday.

Nwajiuba’s nomination as ministerial nominee from Imo State has put to an end a fierce scramble for the position said to have been lobbied for by Senator Hope Uzodinma and former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Eze Madumere.

Nwajiuba, a close ally of the President, had shown interest to become the Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives.

However concern has been raised how the current lawmaker made the Ministerial list despite serving as a member of the federal legislature.

However his nomination as ministerial nominee seem to have laid to rest who takes the ministerial slot of the State after strong indications emerged that Senator Uzodinma and Prince Madumere were in the running for ministerial appointment.

Though there were no official confirmation of their interest, it was gathered that they made strong bids to be part of the Next Level administration of the President.

Uzodinma was Imo APC governorship candidate in the March 9 governorship election. He lost and is challenging the outcome of the polls in court

Madumere had joined opposition forces in Imo APC to tackle his erstwhile boss, former Governor Rochas Okorocha after the latter had preferred his son in law, Uche Nwosu as his successor.
