The Imo State House of Assembly (IMHA) Member representing Ohaji/Egbema State Constituency, HON Cyriacus Hecules Okoro has performed his obligation through the presentation of Hon. Chief Tony Okere Eze to IMHA for screening as one of the commissioner nominee, among other sixteen Commissioner nominees of the Rebuild Imo administration.
Hon. Cyriacus Heclus Okoro on Thursday 1st August 2019 led Chief Tony Okere Eze who is the commissioner nominee from Ohaji-Egbema LGA, to the floor of the hallowed chamber and presented Chief Tony Okere Eze, a bona-fide indigene of Ohaji-Egbema LGA, who is happily married to his beloved wife R.N. Okere and the marriage is blessed with children.
Chief Tony Okere Eze began his educational career by attending Town school Obiakpu-Egbema in Ohaji-Egbema LGA 1971-1976, St. Mary’s Seminary school Umuowa-Orlu Imo State 1976-1977, St. Peter Claver Seminary, Okpala Imo State 1977-1980, Loyola College, Ibadan Oyo State 1980-1981, Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt in Rivers State 1982-1986 and University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State 1988-1992.
Chief Tony Okere Eze has academic qualifications such as: WASC 1981, B.Sc Applied Biology (Zoology options) 2nd class upper divisions 1986 and M.Sc Zoology(Parasitology) 2001.
Chief Eze has worked in various organizations, owned various companies and was a member, Federal House of Representatives who represented Ohaji-Egbema/Oguta/Oru West Federal Constituency 1999-2003.
The Commissioner nominee has in the past served meritoriously in too numerous positions like: board member, Board of Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) Abuja 2005-2007, Sole Administrator Ohaji/Egbema February 2004, Chairman PDP campaign committee Ohaji-Egbema LGA 2003 elections, member Imo State caucus PDP 2003, member PDP elders committee 2002 till date and numerous others left to mention.
Chief Tony Okere has received many traditional honours like: Agunaechemba 1 of Ohoba autonomous community, Okenwa 1 of ancient Nkwesi kingdom Nkwesi-Oguta, Iwumba 1 of Umuokanne autonomous community, Ebubedike 1 of Obiakpu autonomous community and other traditional titles.
Hon. Cyriacus Heclus Okoro informed the House that Chief Tony Okere Eze is honest, loyal, hardworking and a team player.
The Ohaji/Egbema lawmaker having presented the Commissioner nominee from his Constituency, further moved a motion, praying that Hon. Chief Tony Okere Eze be honoured and allow to take a bow without any interrogation, questions and cross examinations and his motion prayers were relied on the distinguished track records of Chief Tony Okere Eze and as a senior colleague who also served as National House of Assembly Member.
The motion was seconded by the Honourable member representing Nkwerre state constituency, Hon. Prince Obinna Okwara and the motion enjoyed majority support while the speaker Rt. Hon. Chiji Collins made remarkable tributes on the personality of Hon. Chief Tony Okere and the Commissioner nominee was admitted to honourable take a bow.
