Chairman, Imo State chapter of Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party, ANRP, Mr.Chibuike Nwachukwu Oziri has advised former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha to bury his head in shame and face his ongoing investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC

Oziri who spoke at the party’s headquarters along Egbu road, Owerri, said Okorocha has no moral grounds to incite Imo people against Governor Emeka Ihedioha

The Imo ANRP Chairman’s reaction came on the heels of recent statements credited to the former Governor where he made scathing remarks against Governor Ihedioha.

Oziri said the former Governor performed abysmally low while in office in the last eight years which led to impoverishment of the people of the State through non payment of workers salaries and pensions of pensioners.

He said it is regrettable that the former Governor had the audacity to fly into the State recently with the primary objective of insulting and inciting Imo people against the administration of Governor Emeka Ihedioha.

He said during Okorocha’s reign as Governor, the State was plunged into debt, as a result of Garnishee court orders and judgement debts which amounted to several billions of naira. He said this clearly indicates recklessness on the part of the former Governor.

He said Imo State is in deplorable and sorry state with the collapse of Infrastructure which made the State to be ranked 34th among States with ease of doing business in the Federation.

He said during Okorocha’s horrendous reign as Governor, pensioners died in their numbers recalling how his mother died without receiving her pension after putting in 35 years of service in the teaching profession in the State.

The Imo ANRP Chairman said former Governor Okorocha’s statement against Governor Ihedioha should not be tolerated anymore by the present administration because he has no right to do so after leaving in his trail suffering and hunger among the people.

He urged Governor Ihedioha not to allow himself to be distracted by Okorocha’s antics and rantings and stay focused in the task of rebuilding Imo State.

” Our Governor should not allow Okorocha to distract him. Such inciting statements are not acceptable” he said
