The Forum of Imo-Based Newspaper Editors (FINE) has commended the Governor of Imo State, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha on his leadership style hinged on good governance.

While speaking on activities of Imo government during the Editors’ general meeting in Owerri last Tuesday, Chairman of the Forum, Comrade Eze Adiuku said the Governor has started well by ensuring that appointees who are experienced in their fields of endeavours are brought on board.

The Forum lauded the government for the committees set up to look into various aspects of the sector for the good of Imo citizens,saying that it was a step in the right direction.

Adiuku who noted that Governor Ihedioha’s victory in the last general elections, reflected the wishes of majority of Imo people, urged him not deviate from the pedestal of good governance.

While commending the appointment of experienced persons as Commissioners to man various ministries, the Forum however noted that a professional journalist should always man the Ministry of Information in line with the square pegs should be plugged into square holes.

In his contribution, Secretary of the forum,, Chigozie Uzosike applauded the Governor for ensuring that due process is followed in his administration.

Uzosike called on the Governor to ensure that he signs into the Open Government Partnership (OGP) to open wider the door of good governance in the state.

He maintained that Editors are Stakeholder in the Imo Project as they works with government in the OGP drive and other sustainable development projects.
