Nigerians have continued to condemn the attack on former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.

Ekweremadu was to deliver a keynote address at the Second Igbo Annual Cultural Festival and Convention organised by Ndi Igbo Germany in Nuremberg.

A mob, suspected to members of IPOB stormed the venue and attacked the Senator.

In his reaction to the incident, former Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, said the act is uncivilised, unacceptable and barbaric.

A statement released by his media office stated that Kalu harped on the need for people of the South East to respect their leaders.

Also, the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Imo State, also spoke against the attack on Senator Ekweremadu.

Chairman of the Council, Imo State chapter, Comrade Isdore Opara, described the attack on Ekweremadu as disrespectful, barbaric and despicable.

He warned the perpetrators not to set foot on Igboland as they will brought to book.
