The Chairman of Interim Management Committee of Owerri Municipal Council, Hon.Ebere Chukwuemeka has taken proactive steps to boost security of lives and property in the municipality.
Last week he had constituted Security Guards aimed at improving on insecurity in the Municipality especially along Douglas Road, Owerri.
At a crucial security meeting held at the Council headquarters, the Chairman charged the Guards to redouble their efforts in curbing the activities of criminals within and around the Municipality.
He charged the security agencies to work in harmony with members of the Security Guard to ensure the success of the security measures put in place to tackle insecurity in the area.
Present at the meeting include DPOs of Owerri Urban Police Station, Shell Camp New Owerri and traditional rulers in the area.
