Police Cordorn Off Shoprite Owerri

Following Xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa and calls for reprisal attack on South Africa owned business outlets in Nigeria, Shoprite located along Egbu road, Owerri, Imo State has been cordoned off by men of the Nigeria Police Force.

Stern looking policemen cordoned the area after reports filtered into town that some youths may attack the business outfit

The outfit has been shut down temporarily by its management.

Newspaper reports quoted the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer in the state , Orlando Ikeokwu to have said that the police took the action in order to prevent a breakdown of law and order in the state .
