Tribunal Rejects Petition To Sack Imo Reps Member

The Imo State election petition tribunal sitting in Owerri has flung away a petition to sack a former Deputy Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly and member House of Representatives, Hon. Ugonna Ozuruigbo

Chairman of the Tribunal, Olagunju Olusegun, in his ruling said the petitioner, the PDP candidate, Kingsley Echendu, spoke from both sides of his mouth.

He said Mr. Echendu claimed that elections were not held in some wards only to make a u turn to say there was over voting in some wards during the election in the federal constituency.

Mr. Echendu and Hon. Ozuruigbo had been locked in legal firewoks over Nkwerre/Nwangele/Isu/Njaba federal constituency in Imo State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had declared declared Ozurigbo of the All Progressive Congress, APC the winner of the election in the federal constituency.
