Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, has been advised not to succumb to undue pressure in delivering his campaign promises to the people of the State.
This advise was given to the Governor by Imo Awareness Coalition, IAC, a socio political group in a statement in Owerri signed by its President, Emmanuel Okwu.
It said the pressure on Governor Ihedioha to perform wonders barely three months in office, is unacceptable as the depth of the rot prevalent in all sectors of Imo State, will require time to be rectified.
“Governor Ihedioha is not a magician. The rot in the State in the last eight years was monumental.
From education to health, roads, infrastructure, sports, nothing was working in the State. Imo was in limbo and this cannot be corrected in three months.
“The wheels of government failed for a long time in Imo. And for governance to work again in the State, the wheels of government has to be retooled and oiled and fixed to work again.
“This takes time and it is only after this is achieved will other things fall in place.
“Governance is not all about speed. It is being about meticulous, staying focused and getting things done and putting it in the right perspective.
“We have seen ambitious plans of the present government in virtually all sectors of the economy of the State and we must give it time to work out” he said.
