Frontline politician in Imo State and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, High Chief Emma J.J.Okereke, has congratulated Governor Emeka Ihedioha on his victory at the State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja.
Speaking to newsmen on his arrival from Abuja for business trip at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri, Igodo who has been an avid supporter of the Ihedioha administration, said the Tribunal did justice to the matter by dismissing the petitions of governorship candidates of the APC, Senator Hope Uzodinma, governorship candidate of the Action Alliance, AA, Uche Nwosu and governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume.
He said the judiciary has proved to doubting Thomases wrong that indeed Ihedioha was duly elected by the people of Imo State during the governorship election held on March 9, 2019.
He said with the matter dusted by the Tribunal, Governor Ihedioha will no longer be distracted by his political adversaries as he will stay focused in carrying out his vision for the State.
He recalled the giant strides recorded so far by the Ihedioha administration which include the reconstruction of roads in the 27 local governments of the State under the Rural Access and Mobility Programme, RAMP, renovation of roads in Owerri Municipal, introduction of Treasury Single Account, TSÀ, renovation of Dan Anyiam and Grasshoppers International Handball Stadium in Owerri, Flagg of “Operation Iron Gate” aimed at boosting security across the State, signing into law 8 bills passed by the State House of Assembly, payment of 100 percent workers salaries and many others.
Igodo said “The Governor has achieved so much so far. He is rebuilding the State. This is evident in the things he has done. After the rains you will see the massive reconstruction of roads that will take place in the State”
“Barely 100 days in office, you can see the transformation going on across State. For a long time, the taps have been dry in Owerri. Now water is flowing from the taps in the city.
“Eke Ukwu Owerri Market which is part of the of culture and heritage of Owerri people which was destroyed by the past administration will soon be rebuilt by Governor Ihedioha.
“All the sectors in the State, Health, Education, infrastructure are all receiving attention from this government within a shot period of time. Every well meaning Imolite should support this government”
The Owerri Nchi Ise High Chief advised Uche Nwosu, Senator Araraume and Senator Hope Uzodinma to sheath their sword and rather reciprocate the hand of friendship extended to them by the Governor and join hands with him in rebuilding Imo State.
He said it is only God that gives Power, stating that they should let sleeping dogs lie and close ranks with Governor Ihedioha to make Imo State a better place.
