By the special grace of God all is now getting set for the long awaited Nigerian Newsguide 11th anniversary ceremony.
The event will hold on Saturday 14th September, 2019 at the prestigious Rockview Hotel Owerri by 12noon.
A special invitation card for the occasion is ready and efforts made by the organizers to dispatch all to ensure mass attendance. Imo State Governor Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha is expected as the Special Guest of Honour at the event.
According to the statement endorsed by the Publisher of the Newspaper Chidi Emeagi and Secretary of the Anniversary Planning Committee Stanly Okehie, the historic occasion will be chaired by the Acting Rector Imo State Polytechnic Umuagwo Dr. Patrick Njoku to be assisted by the Chairman Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Owerri Branch Engr. Dr. Luke Uzoigwe. The statement further indicated that a public to lecture which is to form part of the ceremony with the topic; “Job seekers or job creators; Awakening the giants in our youths through aggressive industrial and agricultural policies” will be delivered by an erudite scholar, foremost industrialist and immediate past National President, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) Dr. Frank Udemba Jacobs.
According to Emeagi and Okehie, the ceremony will be used to honour some distinguished personalities who against all odds had shown outstanding integrity, courage, selflessness and had achieved a lot for humanity in their various career and positions.
Among those to be honoured are, the immediate past Deputy Governor of Imo State Prince Eze Madumere-Icon of Democracy, Vice-Chancellor, Micheal Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, Prof Francis Otunta-ICON OF DEMOCRACY, Vice-Chancellor Imo State University Prof. Lady Victoria Adaobi Obasi, (Mother of Model University Administration in Nigeria 2019), Member Representing Mbaitoli/Ikeduru in the House of Reps, Hon. Henry Nwawuba (Role Model in Youth/Women Empowerment) and his Nwangele, Nkwere, Isu-Njaba counterpart, Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo (Leadership/Business Integrity Award). Others are the Medical Director Federal Medical Centre Owerri Dr. Kingsley Achigbu (Leadership Excellence Award) Imo State Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Physical Planning, Sir Bon. Unachukwu (Public Service Integrity Award), the Clerk/Permanent Secretary Imo State House of Assembly Barr Mrs. Chinelo Emeghara (Ambasador of Women in Leadership) and Dr. Mrs. Adaku Igbomezie (Role Model for Women is Medical practice).
The 11th Anniversary event, the statement says will have His Royal Highness Eze Geoffrey Anika (KSC) as the Royal Father of the day while Very Rev. Benjamin Okeke, the Bishop Elect for Orlu Anglican Diocese will be the Spiritual Father of the Day.
It therefore invites friends, fans, readers of the newspaper and the general public particularly youths and students to attend and benefit from the public lecture.
