Imo State Deputy Governor, Gerald Irona, and member of Imo State House of Assembly, Hon.Uche Ogbuagu, have laid to rest allegations bordering on slapping of the latter by the Deputy Governor.

Ogbuagu represents Ikeduru State constituency.

Irona had in a statement on Tuesday signed by his media aide, Walter Duru, denied allegations which had gone viral on the social media, attracting widespread attention.

Hon.Ogbuagu followed up on Wednesday saying he was never landed a slap by the Deputy Governor.

A statement signed by his media aide, Kelechi Eke, stated ” we wish to completely disassociate Amb.Uche Ogbuagu from the said publication and further state that the publication is baseless, unfounded and untrue.

” We also state that both Hon.Gerald Irona and Amb.Uche Ogbuagu are responsible and key stakeholders in the rebuild Imo project of Governor Emeka Ihedioha’s administration and cannot descend low to engage in such despicable act.

” Their characters are therefore not under any form of interrogation.

The open refutal of the allegations has seemingly laid to rest widespread suspicion mistrust between the Deputy Governor and the lawmaker.
