The administration of Governor Emeka Ihedioha has been described as an act of God.
This was disclosed by Chairman, Interim Management Committee, IMC, Owerri Municipal Council, Hon.Ebere Chukwemeka.
Ebere who spoke when he received in audience, Owerri Municipal chapter of National Council Of Women Societies, NCWS, in his office, said Governor Ihedioha was sent by God to save Imo State from the grip of the past administration.
He said the past administration through its policies impoverished the people of the State.
He said the task of recovering Imo from such bad policies of the past by the present government, is a huge task that requires the support of all.
He said “We now find ourselves in a situation of recovering what was lost over the past years which is a big task. We need all the support to succeed. Women do also have vital roles to play to achieve this task for this administration to succeed, progress and excel
He called on NCWS to show and demonstrate their support to the Ihedioha administration, towards rebuilding the State, assuring that he will not relent in discharging his duties for the good of the municipality.
He said since he assumed office as Council Chairman, criminality has been reduced in the municipality through the concerted efforts of a security outfit he constituted to fight the menace.
Earlier in her remarks, Mrs.Nkechi Ogazi, Caretaker President, NCWS, Owerri Municipal, who led the executives of the organization, said the NCWS is commiteed towards the well-being of women in the area.
She assured of NCWS support to work closely with the Council and commended the Council Chairman for for the ongoing renovation at the Council headquarters.
She solicited for support from the Council Chairman to aid it carry out its programmes which include fight against child abuse and ensure welfare of women in the area.
