Traders, shop owners, businessmen and women, have been advised to keep their surroundings clean and assist the State government to maintain cleanliness of Owerri Municipal.
Chairman,Owerri Municipal Council, Ebere Chukwemeka gave the order alongside the Director General, Imo State Orientation Agency, Martin Opara during sensitisation programme
The duo had embarked on the programme visiting shop owners at Ama Jk,Wetheral Road and Christ Church road, harping on the need for them to keep their surroundings clean.
Also issuing same directive, the DG, Imo Orientation Agency, Opara advised the traders and shop owners not to dump their refuse indiscriminately but make use of buckets to evacuate them
The sensitization programme is part of efforts of the State government to keep the city clean ahead of the festive season.
Owerri in recent times has been wearing a new look courtesy of ongoing Christmas decoration of major and strategic areas in the city by the Council Chairman, Ebere Chukwemeka.
