The political tension that had enveloped Imo State during the last general elections, is coming up afresh this time in Okigwe North federal constituency where the Court of Appeal ordered a re run vote, pitching the current member representing Okigwe North, Obinna Onwubariri and the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Mirian Onuoha, populary called “Mama Sure P”

The re run poll is to hold on January, 2019. Already there are political vibrations in the area with APC and PDP chieftains already pulling strings and a flexing muscles to secure victory for their candidates.

The dynamics which may shape the outcome of the re run polls are uncertain as political analysts speculate that the seen and unseen variables which shaped the outcome of the first election may not be the same for the re run.

The APC seems to have all the big names in the area- a serving senator, Senator Benjamin Uwajumuogu who represents Okigwe zone, a serving minister of the Federal Republic, Hon. Emeka Nwajiuba, but the PDP remains rooted in the area and seem to have more grassroots appeal which may count in the favour of the incumbent House of Reps member

This newspaper gathered that top PDP top-shots are already strategizing ahead of the polls as indications are clear that the yuletide period will provide ample opportunity for the political gladiators to sharpen their winning strategies.
