Fiery critic, Prof. Protus Nathan Uzorma, has promised to lend his support to the new APC government of Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State.
Prof Protus who is a PDP stalwart, known for his support for peoples’ oriented policies, said that the court judgement that affirmed Sen. Hope Uzodinma as the duly elected governor of Imo state is supreme.
He said that Imo people have no choice than to support the government to enable it perform well.
The prolific writer said that His Excellency, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, has expressed his commitment to reposition the state and that what any Imo loving person should do is to join the train.
He however said that he will not fail to criticize any government policy that is anti -people.
He commended the open door policy which governor Hope Uzodinma promised to run stating that such disposition is needed for good governance.
Prof Protus who opined that though APC failed the state in the past, but noted that Sen. Hope Uzodinma’s led government will not fail Imo.
He lend his support for any form of probe on past administrations by Sen. Hope Uzodinma government, because according to him, such probe will help to straightene the records and possibly punish culprits.
According to him, his support for the new government is not based on party affinity but for the good of Imo people.
The university don therefore exppressed optimism that the new government will do well.
He wondered how Ihedioha’s legal team could not counter the results in 388 polling units which Senator Hope said was not included.
When asked to comment on the issue of another Orlu man being the governor, he made it clear that the constitution, through the court, has affirmed Orlu man as the governor and there is nothing anybody can do about that.
He however commended some of the efforts of Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha such as laying good foundation for good governance, introduction of single treasurer account which earned Imo the least corrupt state.
He however said that Governor Hope could surpass such feat with hard work and good planning.
