Former Imo State Commissioner of Finance, Hon.Obinna Mbata, has described the verdict of the Supreme Court which affirmed Senator Hope Uzodinma, as duly elected Governor of Imo State, as recovery of a mandate bestowed on the APC in the March 9 governorship election in the State.
In a statement in Owerri, Mbata also congratulated Senator Hope Uzodinma on his emergence as Governor of Imo State.
The full statement reads:
“The declaration of Senator Hope Uzodinma as duly elected Governor of Imo State by the Supreme Court, is not only a landmark judgement, but a restoration and recovery of the Peoples mandate bestowed on our great party, the All Progressive Congress, APC in the March 9, 2019 governorship election.
“I, on behalf of my family and political associates, most sincerely congratulate Senator Uzodinma on this rare accomplishment and also commend the learned Justices of the Supreme Court for dispensing justice without fear or favour.
“Imo State has now returned to its original political family, the APC, and we remain hopeful that under the leadership of our Governor, Senator Uzodinma, our dear State shall now attain Olympian heights and soar in development and progress.
“The verdict is also reflection of the fact that the Next Level Agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari, will continue to illuminate without let or hindrance in our State.
“Once again, congratulations our Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma.
