The Director General of Imo State Orientation Agency, Chief Martin Opara has said that the collective resolve of Imo people to enthrone good governance and secure their future, is what is on trial at the supreme court, not Hon. Emeka Ihedioha or his deputy who were overwhelmingly chosen as the catalyst for that long sought good leadership for our state.

Chief Opara who dropped the hint at Emmanuel Anglican Church, Logara, called for the prayers of the people of God for Imo state.

He maintained that the detractors who have continued to distract the Rebuild Imo government with media propaganda, the tribunal, the appeal court and now, the Supreme Court court, are only plotting to truncate the visible light that has come to the State.

He said “They want to return us to the dark days when our common patrimony was looted with reckless abandon, civil servants were paid half salary, our pensioners totally abandoned, our roads damaged and all public institutions eroded.

He continued “our governor did not come to power through the back door, neither did he write his results in a hotel, rather, the Imo masses voted him and Engr. Gerald Irona to lead the rebuilding process which in on top gear.

The orientation DG informed the congregation that the governor is not perturbed by the antics of those who looted the eight (8) years federal allocation of the state as well as bailout funds and internally generated revenue, as he has gone ahead to take bold and deliberate steps to reposition the state as an investment destination.

In his words:

“It is a bold statement of commitment by the governor that, on the day the detractors mobilized the suspended chairmen of the local government areas and thugs to illegally disrupt the local government administration in the state, the governor was busy in crucial meetings with the president of AfriExim Bank where about N60 b direct foreign investment for the building of a South East/South South Quality Assurance centre was attracted to the state”.

Chief Opara congratulated “Imo people for the victory the good Lord has granted the State through the expected supreme court judgement and called on all hands to be on deck, for the rebuilding of our battered state.
