… urges government on job creation
No fewer than 25 indigents including widows, special citizens, the aged and needy have benefited from the empowerment programme organized by Lady Roseanne Obilo, a United State base philanthropist and educator.


The event which took place at Umuchieze – Obollo, in Isiala Mbano LGA on Monday, 30th December, 2019 was the second edition of the good spirited programme.


Speaking to Newsmen at the event, Lady Obilo said that beneficiaries were carefully selected from different parts of the state and were given Fifty Thousand Naira each to either start a business or add to what they are already doing.


She said that it was expected that they would from proceeds of the business, solve their needs, take care of themselves and cater for their families.


Lady Obilo disclosed that the empowerment programme was inspired by her passion to reach out to the needy, uplift many lives from poverty and offer good life to people especially the downtrodden.
She also decried the high rate of poverty and unemployment in the country and urged the government and all concerned to do something to remedy the situations.

Speaking also, her husband, Dr. Livinus Obilo, renowned physician, medical consultant and philanthropist applauded the gesture and advised the beneficiaries to put the money to good use in order the actualize the desires of the organizer.

Dr. Obilo who is also the founder of Nigerian Health Care Foundation, which he established 20 years ago to render health care services to sick in Nigeria, assured that his family would never relent in reaching out and contributing to a better society.


Adding his voice, the eldest of the Obilo’s family, Chief Ignatius Obilo prayed God to continue to afford Lady Obilo and her husband the grace and more blessings to continue their good works for the overall good of the people.


Equally some of the beneficiaries including Mrs. Maria Onyenezide, Miss Grace Ogam, Mr. Kelechi Anyanwu, Mr. Jerome Madu, Mrs. Lucky Nwaigwe and Mrs. Augustina Okoroji expressed immense gratitude for the kind gesture and promised to make judicious use of the money.


They alongside other beneficiaries of the 2018 edition, who gave testimonies of the goodwill, offered special prayers to their benefactor and urged other rich and well meaning individuals to emulate the Obilos and make good impacts on the lives of the people.


The event was witnessed by notable personalities, community chieftains religious leaders, friends and relatives of Obilo family among many others.


The beneficiaries of the programme also included Mrs. Dorathy Ufe, Mrs. Mercy Agim, Mrs. Edna Nwanguma, Mrs. Maryann Chinekwu, Mrs. Perpetual Dike, Mrs. Blessing Nwachukwu and Mrs. Ijeoma Madu.


Others were Mrs. Francisca Obiji, Mrs. Clara Onyenezide, Mrs. Rose Nwaudaro, Ugochukwu Echeka, Mrs. Veronica Onyeneho, Mrs. Victoria Nwachukwu among others.
