Defections In Imo: APC Eyes Two PDP House Of Reps Members

The gale of defections that has rocked the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Imo State, may continue.

More than nine members of the State House of Assembly of PDP extraction had decamped to the All Progressive Congress, APC.

On Thursday during plenary at the State Assembly, the Speaker of the House, Chiji Collins announced the defection of some members from the AA and PDP to the APC.

At the House of Representatives, two members of the House, Hon.Paschal Obi and Hon. Kingsley Uju, decamped from the Action Alliance, AA to the All Progressive Congress, APC.

The defections are not over as this newspaper gathered that two House of Reps members of PDP extraction are now set to follow suit.

The two House of Reps members are from federal constituencies in Orlu and Owerri zones respectively.

A top level source in the know of the undercurrents said “The defection will continue. With overwhelming majority the APC now have in the State Assembly, we intend to replicate such feat in the House of Representatives.

“Two Members of the House, of PDP extraction will soon crossover to the APC in a matter of days. Watch and see.
